C.A.R. has been through decades of political unrest and coup since its independence in 1960. But the March 2013 takeover by a group called Seleka at majority Muslim marked a new highs in the type of crisis for the already weaken country.
Thousands of people died and numerous houses and farms were looted and/or destroyed. C.A.R. Renaissance Foundation role is to provide emergency aid for the displaced people in the form of medical supplies, mosquito nets to help prevent diseases, food assistance, and kits that include blankets, clothes, sleeping mats, soaps, kitchen sets and more.
